We’re thrilled to introduce our new theme for the school year: 'How We Express Ourselves'! Throughout this module, we’ll be diving into the world of play and discovering just how it helps us explore and understand our surroundings. The Penguin students will also be inquiring into how people connect with one another, a fantastic opportunity for everyone to develop their communication skills while having a lot of fun!
Each week, we will post a little update showing you the fantastic learning that has been going on in Penguin Class...

Phase 1 were very lucky to have a visit from Embracing Arts this week, who provided us with a seaside sensory experience!
This week, a Penguin student was supported to hold a light toy using both hands. He then held the object and watched closely - developing strength and coordination to use both hands.

The Tonie Box is a favourite in Penguin Class! The students are able to operate the box and engage in storytelling independently. Here a student is using PECS to request a specific character to listen to.
This module, we are focusing on Picasso and colouring with emotion. During some outdoor learning, alongside some artwork, a penguin student explored mirrors and looked closely at his face and facial expressions!

This week, the Brook pathway came together for an Easter celebration afternoon. The students explored sensory stories, egg hunts and had a visit from the Easter Bunny!
