Purpose of Testing
You and your classmates are sitting in a soundless classroom. Every noise that is made is silenced by the teacher's voice. Tests are always super boring for students and can be for teachers. Here’s the question: Is it beneficial for students?
Students always fall asleep or stare blankly at a wall ,because who wants to take a boring test? Fulcrum.ai says the study shows different students perform better on tests. A lot of students suffer from anxiety which can affect how they perform on tests. This could mean they aren’t performing as well as they could.
On the other hand, tests are great for seeing how students are doing in that subject. Teachers seeing what questions the students got wrong tells them what they need to work on more. For example, if a class is taking a math test and only a few of them get the geometry question right, the teacher knows most of the students need to work on it.
It also can benefit the student’s grades. This depends on how the student does on the test but if they work hard it can pay off. A lot of the time teachers have make-ups or allow corrections to the test after it has been finished. Some teachers also let students do extra credit worksheets for extra points.
To sum it up, tests at school can be beneficial or a disadvantage for their grades. Trying hard on tests is what matters to tell the teachers what you know or if you don’t need any help on that section. Teachers will also know if you don’t understand anything and need extra help from them.
