Human Emotions
By: Callie Schull
What makes us human is not just our looks, but our emotions too. Emotions help and are with us our whole lives, there will be good emotions and bad emotions throughout life. Emotions express ourselves and show our different personalities, showing that everyone is the same.
Let's talk about the negatives first, to get our bad emotions out of the way; bad emotions that make us feel negative could be Anger, Fear, Sadness, Disgust, Guilt, Anxiety, Loneliness, Frustration, and Shame. Those are only some of the mean emotions that live within us. Just because we see them as bad doesn't mean that they can't have a good purpose. For example, if we didn’t have fear, we would probably be getting into a lot of trouble and harm, and fear helps us stay away from danger. Guilt is another good example, it shows that you actually care about something and you feel bad about what happened or whatever happened to that person or thing.
Now as you see, negative emotions aren't as bad as they seem or sound. When you first think of it you think of the worst, but if you think about it longer they are the emotions that keep us safe and make us our own person.
Now that we've discussed all the bad emotions, let's talk about the positive ones; good emotions that make us feel positive and such are Happiness, Love, Satisfaction, Awe, Surprise, Interest, Amusement, Pride, and Gratitude. Those are some of the good and positive emotions. Positive emotions make us feel good but they aren't always the best emotions all the time. For example, love can be dangerous, love can drive you to obsession and madness and basically a lovesick fool depending on how much you love something or someone, love can make you do bad things, and love is putting full trust into one thing or person and one little word can cause love to brake and turn into heartbroken which can be a lot worse.
