The Origin of Pizza!
We all know of pizza, the wonderful, wonderful food, but where did it come from? I researched where pizza originated from, and I found that it is an Italian food. Pizza is a tasty food, but what was it like before?
The birthplace of pizza was in southwestern Italy’s Campania region, home to the Naples. Pizza was a common food, eaten at any meal of the day and served at informal restaurants and street venders. A blessing was made from Queen Margherita that may have started a pizza craze in Italy. Immigrants from across the ocean would come over to trade and discover new things. They soon found out about pizza.
Then, other countries found out about pizza, and Mariani said the food was traveling “Like blue jeans and rock and roll.” In this day-and-age, Pizza places like Dominoes and Pizza Hut are thriving in about 60 different countries. The toppings change in every country. Some countries have Gouda cheese to Hard boiled eggs just depending on the country.Â
This is the origin of pizza and It’s wonderful. Pizza took America by storm before it even hit Italy. It is considered an american food, but it did originate in Italy. Pizza is a wonderful food and I am hoping that after reading this article, you will think about where pizza came from every time you eat it.
