Missiles Shot Near U.S Ship
By Sean Glynn
The USS Carney was not actually attacked by Yemen. The missiles were sent to Israel, not the ship. Thankfully, the USS Carney was able to intercept all of the missiles and protect Israel (BBC, 2023). But why is Yemen sending missiles at Israel?
Â
Yemen is aligned with Iran, which is the problem. Iran is pro-Palestine and is giving them missiles and weapons, so that they can overthrow Israel. Iran wants to overthrow Israel because of their Western-aligned government. Yemen, being allies with Iran, is also attacking Israel. Not only are they attacking Israel, but they are also attacking America. Recently, American bases in Syria and Iraq were hit by missiles. Speaking of America, why was the USS Carney attacked?
On Thursday, October 19 (BBC, 2023), missiles were shot near the USS Carney from the country of Yemen. According to The Pentagon, three land attack cruise missiles and several drones were sent in the general direction of Israel. In response to this, as well as the missile strike on U.S. bases in Iraq and Syria, missiles were sent back at Iran-aligned munition depots. (BBC, 2023)
Overall, while missiles were shot at Israel, the USS Carney was able to intercept them and save the day, and the U.S. was able to counter-attack and neutralize the threat.
