Ameca Changes the World!

Ameca is, “the world's most advanced human-like structured robot” (ERA, 2023). Engineered Arts developed the UK-based robot. Ameca consists of realistic human features like the face and the whole titanium body.  She has the most advanced software known to our date, she can control devices, change lights, and even help you around the house. Ameca is however a very delicate piece of technology, she can only do the bare minimum. 

As Ameca is the world's most modern robot, she has upgradable software and body. By saying so, she can unlock new facial expressions, body movements, and become part of the every-day world. This whole project started in 2021,  when they, “equipped [Ameca] with cameras, microphones, and facial recognition software,” according to Technology in Education (TIE).  

TIE also states that Ameca can generate text prompts in its most recent update. and she was designed with titanium with rubber on the outside to give it a more human-friendly setting. It uses sensors to learn its surroundings and cameras to recognize faces. The faces will be stored in its database, so the next time you meet each other again, she will greet you like a friend would. It's basically a walking Alexa.

Ameca can also play songs, serve you, and make calls.  You could also say that she is a live phone with Siri enabled. You may be asking yourself how it charges. Well, it does in many ways but it can take hours. And as with the battery being fragile, I wouldn’t buy one anytime soon. Small Business Corporation (SBC), states that, “it can feel pain, and become angry within seconds, as her mood shifts, the facial expressions change.” In my opinion, Ameca sounds scary or terrifying! She can shift moods within a second, which is faster than the average person.
