We hope your family can join us for this year's GSES Family Fall Festival on Friday, November 10th. Tickets are pre-sale only, $10 per person (2 and under free), and include access to 11 fun bouncies, petting zoo, crafts, and other activities. We also have several food truck options for snacks and treats. We look forward to seeing you all Friday for a great night of family fun!
The festival will be set up along the playground side and back of the school. Plan to check-in and enter the festival at the side parking lot beside the playground. Golf carts may park along the cut-through road between GSES and WJMS. Other vehicles may park in the GSES or WJMS parking lots.

We are still in need of volunteers to help with the event. Are you able to work a shift during the evening? Click HERE if you can help!
We look forward to honoring our GSES veterans and active service members during Friday's Veterans Day program. We hope all of our students will wear red, white, and blue to help show our appreciation. If your family completed the RSVP form that you will be attending the ceremony, please look for an email early this week with information about check-in and parking.
Our GSES Student Technology Competition will take place this Friday, November 10th. Participating 3rd-5th grade students should plan to have their electronic projects easily accessible (such as in their Google Drive), as well as have their prepared speech practiced and ready to present. The resources below include some helpful suggestions for project planning. Please contact Mrs. Gassman (monica.gassman@jcss.us) if you have any questions.

SCHOOL SPOTLIGHTS
Campfire Stories
Mrs. Swierzek’s 5th grade writers have been hard at work! They wrote mystery stories focusing on figurative language, sensory details, and character dialogue using the pictures, titles, and captions from The Mysteries of Harris Burdick (which is a very neat book, if you’ve never seen it before!). Students then shared their stories around their class campfires while enjoying s’mores.
Lunar Learning
4th grade science involved some yummy fun this week! Mrs. Dunahoo and Mrs. Ellis' classes enjoyed demonstrating what they have learned about the moon phases by using Oreo cookies to create moon phase models.
A Spooktacular Halloween
Mrs. Holman and Mrs. Kollman’s kindergarten class had a SPOOKTACULAR, fun day making crafts, eating monster treats, creating witch’s potion, making Frankenworms come alive in a fun science experiment, and investigating slimy, gross touch-and-feel boxes.
PANTHER SUPPORTERS
We have really enjoyed having our friends from JCHS help with morning arrival on their home game Fridays. Our Panthers wrapped up their season this week, and we'd love to send a big "THANK YOU" to them for spreading their Panther spirit to our school each Friday morning! Congratulations this week's Panther Spirit Contest winners Marissa, Francesca, Alex, and Riley. They won free tickets to Friday's night's game.
