SCHOOL SPOTLIGHTS
National Assistant Principals Week
This week was our chance to celebrate two very special people at our school, Assistant Principals Mrs. Alison Stover and Dr. Jennifer Hartwell. We appreciate their dedication to our students and staff and the many ways they go above and beyond for our school. Thank you for all you for us!
Paraprofessional Appreciation Day
Hats off to our AMAZING team of GSES Paraprofessionals! In celebration of Paraprofessional Appreciation Day on Friday, April 12, we want to give a special shout-out to this WONDERFUL team for the many ways they support our school. We can't thank you enough for all you do!
Congratulations March Claw of the Month: GREEN CLAW!
We had fun on Thursday's Claw Spirit Day celebrating our March Claw of the Month with a GREEN CLAW PARADE! During the month of March, our Panthers earned 5,231 PAWS tickets for positive behaviors--showing PRIDE, having a positive ATTITUDE, doing their best WORK, and keeping our school SAFE. Green Claw earned 1,067 of those to claim the top prize for the month. This month's Honorary Grand Marshals, escorted by Gus to lead the parade, were GSES Green Claw members Mrs. Jackie Cooper and Mr. Bob Stone. Both of these Green Claw teachers will be retiring this year, and we loved getting to celebrate them during the parade too! Congratulations, Green Claw! (You can view more pictures on our GSES Facebook page.)
Future Panthers
Thanks to our Kindergarten team for working hard at JCSS Kindergarten Registration this week. We were so excited to get to meet some of our future Panthers and their families!
Sun-Sational!
While most of our students were headed home by the time it reached as close to totality as our region would see, we had a great time learning about this year's solar eclipse on Monday! The next time a solar eclipse will be visible in our area we hope some of our current students will be GSES staff members!
Panther Playoffs Party
Our 3rd quarter Panther Playoffs were held on Thursday, April 11th during "Specials Choice" to celebrate students who have shown PAWS expectations this quarter. Thanks to our specials teachers for planning lots of fun activities to make this a fun event for students!
Art with Heart
Pre-K had a fun in-house Field Trip this week. Thanks to The Rustic Easel for helping our students create some special Mother's Day surprises!
Grow, Grass, Grow!
Kindergarten has been learning about the needs of plants in science. Ms. Carter's students had fun planting grass seeds in front of their houses. These student scientists are excited to see how long it will take their grass to grow!
Tallest Tower?
Our After-School engineers love challenging themselves to building contests. Check out this amazing tall tower these smart AFter-School Panthers worked hard to build!
