News & Updates
THANK YOU for a FANTASTIC Fun Run on Friday! It was so much fun for all! We are very grateful for our PTO, staff, and volunteers who helped make it such a great experience for our students. Coach Landers and DJ T-Bone rocked the mic and made sure everyone had a great time! Thank you to all families who came out to help and support us.
We did it!!! Thank you for helping us EXCEED our Fun Run goal of $55,000! At the end of our Fun Run on Friday afternoon, our total was just over $71,000 and counting, but why stop there?! We will continue to collect donations through next Friday, September 30th, so if your child was itching to earn a special fundraising prize, there's still time. Thank you, Panther Community, for your generous support! Click HERE if you'd like to continue to follow our progress and see live updates online.
We appreciate your support with our Book Fair this week as well. We had record sales and are looking forward to using funds raised to grow our media collections.
Thank you for your flexibility and patience with us as we are working to improve the efficiency of our morning car rider line as well as protecting our daily instructional time. Morning drop-off now begins at 7:05 A.M. and lasts until 7:40 A.M. If you arrive after 7:40, you will need to check your child in at the front office and will be counted tardy. We appreciate your cooperation and support as we are hopeful this will continue to help with the flow of our car rider line and protect instructional time,
Please be sure to remind your child to check the Lost & Found for missing items. We will be donating any unclaimed items to a local charity on September 30th.
If you order our 2022-23 yearbook by September 30th, you will receive a 10% discount. Order online at www.treering.com/validate and enter the school access code 101485563232668.

Ms. Diane, Mr. Larry, Ms. Marsha, Ms. Kimberly, and Ms. Chelsey are always on call when we need them, and we appreciate all they do help keep our students and staff safe and healthy.
Student Spotlight: Panther Helpers
Panther Helpers are the next-best-thing to staff at GSES! This group of student leaders is an essential part of making sure our school runs smoothly. 5th graders who want to be part of this group must complete an application and be interviewed to be selected. They help us with duties every morning, like being breakfast and hallway monitors, collecting library books, putting up the flag, videoing segments for our morning news, and delivering Bags of Love.
Several of the student leaders on our Panther Helper team recently travelled to Rock Eagle 4-H Center to attend the "Step Up and Lead" conference at Rock Eagle 4-H Center, where they participated in workshops to help them learn to build communication and presentation skills, understand leadership personality styles, and learn team-building and group processing skills that will help them become better school and community leaders. Thank you to our counselors Mrs. Sun and Ms. Hughes who organize and lead this great group of school leaders!
