News & Updates
Wear your Red, White, and Blue on Monday, September 12, as we celebrate Patriot Day, a National Day of Service and Remembrance in honor of the individuals who lost their lives on September 11, 2001.
Our Book Fair kicks off this week on September 15 and continues through next Friday, September 23rd. Don't want to send your child to school with cash to shop at the fair? No problem! Gift cards can be purchased at https://efairs.literati.com/. They are also a great option for your out-of-town friends and family to support your child and our school media program.
Congratulations to our September 9th Spirit Contest Winners; Brook Waugh, Ayla Armstrong, and Lily Armstrong. They each won a free ticket to Friday's JCHS game. We love seeing your Panther Pride! Four more lucky winners will be selected this Friday.
Our Clinic is in need of latex-free Band-Aids, if you'd like to make a donation. You can send them to school with your child to deliver to Mrs. Gierum. Thanks!

Help us Celebrate our GSES Teacher of the Year and Support Person of the Year!
We couldn't be more excited to announce that our GSES Teacher of the Year is Ms. Wendye Hendley, and our Support Person of the Year is Mrs. Wanda Burns. These two ladies have true hearts of gold, and their love for our students and commitment to our school family shine in all they do! Join us in congratulating these two amazing Panthers!
"Red Carpet Run" is Coming Soon!
Another way you can help us “Set the Stage for Success at GSES” this year is to help us raise money to support some great opportunities and upgrades for our school. We are excited to partner with GSES PTO to sponsor the “Red Carpet Run” Fun Run on September 23rd! Specific information about our fundraising goals and how you can help will be shared with families next week, but we wanted to let you know the information about the event if you’d like to make plans in advance to attend. Each grade level will have a separate run time at the WJMS stadium. Families are welcome to come cheer for your child if you’d like to be part of the festivities. (In the event of rain, our runs will have to be moved indoors to our gym, in which case we do not have space to host all of our students and families, so we’re hoping for a beautiful sunny day!) Runs will take place at the following times:
8:35-9:20 Pre-K & Kdg
9:20-10:05 1st Grade
10:05-10:50 3rd Grade
11:35-12:20 5th Grade
12:20-1:05 2nd Grade
1:05-1:50 4th Grade
We’re also encouraging our students to participate in Fun Run Spirit Week September 19-23 to help us get fired up about supporting our school! If your child would like to dress up, our theme days are as follows:
Monday, September 19: “Celebrity Day” Dress as your favorite movie character!
Tuesday, September 20: “Dress for Success Headshot Day” Show off your favorite outfit and best smile for Yearbook Picture Day!
Wednesday, September 21: “Hollywood Hair Day” Sport your favorite crazy hairstyle or hat!
Thursday, September 22: “Fancy Feet Day” Let’s get ready to run by wearing your favorite fun socks and silly shoes!
Friday, September 23: “Red Carpet Run Day” Show your Panther Pride by wearing your favorite spirit-wear or tribe shirts.
