In today’s world, most people own expensive and fashionable items which isn’t surprising. Like Tom Ford said “A man should never wear shorts in the city. Flip-flops and shorts in the city are never appropriate. Shorts should only be worn on the tennis court or on the beach.’’.
Matching colors in outfits, layering of clothing, expensive and flashy jewelry for some, different styles and tastes in clothes, and bright and light colors. Most people have decided on what looks good and what makes them feel good.
But what about Gucci? Gucci is unique, most of you have already seen how Gucci dresses its models these days. Overwhelming clothing, only a little clothing, or too much clothing. Very bold colours together, or super plain. Where did this all originate from? These unique tastes in clothing attract so much attention from the media.
It all started in 1921, Gucci was founded by a man named Guccio Gucci in Florence, Tuscany. It was initially him owning a store that sells leather goods. But soon Guccio decided to split his store with his two sons at 50 percent each.
Then Guccio’s grandsons got a hold of his company, which turned out to be messier than expected. Guccio’s grandsons got into some argument with each other. It was so chaotic they decided to bring it to court.
At the same time, Gucci was expanded to Asia, but they started overproducing products and made their products lessen in value. The main buyers from Japan started losing interest in Gucci because of the mass expansion; Which almost led them to bankruptcy. Maurizio Gucci, Guccio Gucci’s grandson, had sold Gucci to investors because of being in debt. On 27 March 1995, Maurizio was assassinated. It was a shock to the public
and the end of the Gucci family owning Gucci. Maurizio’s wife had hired a hitman to kill Maurizio because she was jealous.
Sadly, The Gucci company that was owned by the Gucci family has come to an end. Then in 1994, Tom Ford became the creative director of Gucci. His stunning works knocked people off their feet. Tom Ford made the Gucci we know today.
But Gucci in 1994 was an Icon. What happened? It’s because in 2004 Tom Ford resigned from Gucci. After all, he didn’t have complete control anymore in Gucci. This was a shock to the world.

Starting in December 2014, Marco Bizzarri became the CEO of Gucci. This is mostly when people rather love or hate Gucci. Their unique models are all so eye-catching. Gucci gets a lot of attention online because of it.
Gucci was made up of the upper class, so this is the reason why Gucci is so expensive. Since Gucci is for the upper class, people buy Gucci to feel like they have achieved something or make them feel like they are wealthy.
Gucci isn’t like your regular fashion with the ideal matching and eye-pleasing outfits. Gucci is far different from that. Gucci wants to break stereotypes. It’s also a very smart marketing technique; It’s eye-catching.
So in conclusion, Gucci has a rich history along with a history-changing unique fashion taste. Gucci now might be ‘ugly’ in some opinions but you talking about it is already a marketing technique for them.
