Being an A-list celebrity is not easy. Paparazzi is constantly chasing them and they can’t leave their house in peace. I think that celebrities’ lives should be off-limits and they should also have private time. They are normal people too.
There are so many stories of celebrities being disrespected and straight-up harassed by journalists trying to get a picture or a story that will go viral and expose something embarrassing about the celebrity. Whether it be paparazzi trying to get a picture or journalists trying to find an interesting story about the celebrity it is still a violation of the celebrities privacy.
For example, whenever there is a celebrity who hides their face or identity, people in the media will do anything to find out who the person actually is. Let’s use Justin Bieber as an example. He has been attacked multiple times by paparazzi including an incident in 2013. He was in London and entering his car when a photographer told him to, "go back to the United States." Justin snapped and started swinging at him. A lot of people were shocked and were criticizing Justin for attacking and swearing at him. But I wouldn’t blame him. Most 19 year-olds would do the same thing if they would’ve been chased by photographers for years. This was just his breaking point.
A lot of people do not realize how hard being a celebrity is because they have never experienced it. They just do not know what it feels like. But many celebrities have said that it is really hard. Their privacy is constantly being ignored and literally everywhere they go, people take pictures of them.
I am not saying that we should not know anything about them. Everything they share about themselves is obviously fine. That’s why they are famous. They are famous for doing something well or are interesting in some way. But they should also have private time and journalists should not dig up information about them that they wouldn’t want to share.
We all want to know about the lives of famous people. These days people have become very interested in the topic “celebrities lives,” so paparazzi and the press have been taking close-ups of their lives so that others can see them. This is fair, we should be able to know whatever we want about a famous person’s life.
Celebrities have been a bigger deal ever since the 20th century and there are now the Paparazzi who take photos of Celebrities for news websites or articles. This is how these people make a living. The Paparazzi take these photos to earn money and it is their only way of surviving. The average paparazzi can earn about 250 dollars per picture even if the person is really famous and is quite hard to get a good picture of. If celebrity lives were off-limits then some people won’t be earning money at all and they would be forced to have no job or a very low paying job.
“They brought it on themselves by being famous,'' said MS teacher Mr. Sturgeon. This statement really says that they are famous so they make people more curious about looking at their lives. People want to be able to see pictures of their favourite tv star or singer like Jimmy Fallon or Jimmy Kimmel on their usual celebrity website
Reading about celebrities is a form of escapism that distracts you from life. Without people making these websites and magazines because of the lack of information, you won't be able to see what is happening in their lives. You won't be able read your usual celebrity website like TheTalko, you won’t be able to watch any conspiracy theory videos on celebrities as there is nothing to write about as they know nothing about the celebrity.
Celebrity lives should not be off-limits even though celebrities really want them to be like that. They did it to themselves by being famous and a person could lose his or her job if celebrity lives become off-limits. This is why celebrity lives should not be off-limits.
They choose to put it online. If they put something online but then refuse to add more information because of personal reasons then they should have not put it up in the first place.
They accept the consequences. When they decided to step into the spotlight and continue with it they know that they will gain and lose some privileges such as privacy. When you’re in the spotlight people want to know what you are doing 24/7. Your an influence and people want to see you, be you.
It gives them popularity. A lot of celebrities are popular now because of a leak or dramatic event. They shouldn't complain about not having a private life when the way they got famous (in some cases more famous) was because of their private life being leaked.
It gives paparazzi jobs. Without being able to see into celebrities's lives or be on the hunt for drama, paparazzi would be out of business. Yes, some people would argue that red carpets would be better without paparazzi, but it still puts people out of a job.
