Last week, ISM Headmaster, David Toze, has announced a new rule where food prices in the Kantina and the Bearcat Cafe double if students do not bring their own container. This rule is to be set by January 8th, 2020.
This new regulation has caused much controversy across the whole school. Some students agree while some have differed. Rachel Davis, an 8th-grade student, stated, “I think that this is a very good idea that should have been implemented years ago! It would save ISM so much money from buying food containers. It would also save the environment and the turtles.”
With this much controversy, parents are transferring their kids to Brent and BSM.
Patrisha Morales, a parent of five, stated, “This is unacceptable. My family and I can not tolerate these kinds of rules. ISM is just using this as an excuse to increase school funds.”

The executive manager David Lin, of the fast-food chain In and Out, has promoted an idea of opening the restaurant in Manila by 2021. He believes that an In and Out will be hugely popular since the recent opening of Shake Shack has been a hit with people standing in lines for hours.
Another reason he wants to open an In and Out is that he believes it is a more healthy burger alternative to fast food such as Jollibee or McDonalds. "The In-and-Out ingredients are all fresh and finely chopped, and the food is made with care," says the executive manager.
Many Manila citizens are eagerly waiting for this opportunity as the beloved restaurant currently only exists in California and a couple of other states in America.

Last week, ISM’s administration canceled the winter break. According to an anonymous employee, this is because the number of students beginning to fail has increased. "We think there are too many students getting 3s and 4s. In order to get them back on track, we believe that increasing school days will help them.”
MS Principal Rachel Harrington said, “We care about our students and failing is the last thing we wish for them. We want to help."
Though the reasons behind this decision seem to be good-hearted and genuine, it has caused some outrage within the ISM student body. Tatiana Sy, an 8th grade student, protested this decision. “It’s so unfair! What if we aren’t falling behind?”
Another fellow classmate commented, “I’m falling behind in some of my classes and this could help.
With 48% of MS students supporting this decision, the news seems to have divided the student body.

On the 28th of September, the owner of Apple, Ronald Wayne proclaimed at Apple’s headquarters in Cupertino, CA that the company will have to halt the production of their iPhones. As Ronald Wayne said bluntly, “We can’t make new iPhones.” The thriving company is faced with an immense dilemma over the production of its smartphones.
As a result of the raging trade war over the last year between China and the US, China has refused to provide the minerals that are essential to make Apple iPhones. As a result, Apple has been forced to stop production until they can find a new source. As Wayne professed “Until a new source is found, there is nothing we can do.”
This could affect other smartphone companies as well. Although it may not affect the current 250 million people with smartphones, over time, this will affect consumers choices. Before long, people won’t be able to replace their iPhones.

On Friday, November 17, marine biologist Florence Amibigute, lead a team in Batangas, Philippines to finding a new toxic species of algae, that appears to be capable of dissolving and "eating" human flesh.
It has yet to be decided what the world is going to do with this new phenomenon. World leaders are discussing with experts what the best course of action is for this potential life-threatening species.
US President Donald Trump has already made a press statement, saying, "I believe this is the next big thing for us. We need to get involved right now and start developing as soon as possible".
While a lot of people agree with him, we have another world leader, Angela Merkel, who thinks stated, "We need to let the experts gather all the facts before we try anything. This could cause catastrophic effects if used without caution".

Last Monday, November 21, ISM headmaster Mr. Toze decided to increase the breaks between each class to 20 minutes. He stated that the new rule will be implemented at the start of the 2nd semester.
He stated, "As part of the ISM community, we want students to have longer breaks between learning blocks because it will give the students the chance to socialize more and will prevent students from being late to class. I want ISM to be the school where students have fun and learn at the same time."
The news has been spreading around the entire school and many students seem more happy about the 20 minute breaks.
The change could result in a change to school ending time to 4pm instead of 3pm.
More news to follow shortly.

Last Friday, at exactly 12:00 pm Mr.Toze announced the school is closing due to lack of funds. The reason why the school is closing done is because of one particular student, Stella Sieh.
On Thursday at 3:00 pm Stella Sieh had an emotional breakdown and started a riot with just her self and started demolishing the school. She started by breaking all the windows and then the computers, tearing the books, burning the walls, and smashing the protector. The reason for Stella's rampage was because she got a "1" on her maths test.
After this incident, the school was thinking about repair but with all the damage the school has gone through the repair costs were too high. The total cost is 2 billion dollars and the school had only one choice which is to close down.

This past Friday, Novemeber 18th, students appeared to be hallucinating in the ISM hallways and during class. Many teachers reported that were acting strange only after lunch.
All students were obligated to to take a drug test. All students tested positive.
First thoughts were that all of the food in the Kantina was drugged. We spoke to ISM's principal and security team and they all said, "We had nothing to do with it."
Some parents are suing ISM for putting their childrens' lives in danger. Beyonce, mother of 17, went to the extreme and is suing ISM for 500.000.000 PHP.
One student, Pascaulé Genie, said that after having the pizza during lunch he felt like engaging in mortal combat with other students. Kaanaaat Halid says, "I never eat the food at ISM. I bring my own food because I am a picky eater."

Teletubbies charter, Tinky Winky, got arrested late on the night of September 25th, 2019. He was caught stealing $5,000,000 from Laa-Laa. Police describe Mr. Tinky Winky as "behaving in a manner unfit for public display.”
Teletubbies is a beloved show and the characters serve as a good role model for many kids. But Tinky Winky's arrest has changed Teletubbies reputation. However, before this occurred, some of the co-stars claimed that, “Tinky consistently acted inappropriately in and off screen. "
"A few days ago, Tinky made Sun baby sad and sued him for one million dollars. I guess he got mad and stole from me," Laa-Laa added.
After this incident, it will take Teletubbies a long time to recover their reputation. Directors and Crew say that, “this unforgivable behavior should not be tolerated." Directors and producers are still debating if they should take down Teletubbies for good.

On November 10, 2019, ISM decided to forbid students to bring phones to school, as they think that it has become a major distraction to students. For a while now, ISM teachers and principals have been telling students that phones should be switched off or on airplane mode during classes as well as telling them that lunch and break are device-free.
Some students have followed through with this, while others have not. According to Ms. Harrington, many students have been caught using their phones during lunch and there have also been incidents where phones start to ring in class. "It distracts students, as well as negatively impacting their mental health," Ms. Harrington said.
Many students and parents have complained about this new rule. As a result, principals are discussing other options, but nothing has been decided yet.

At 2:30 am on October 29, Mumbai residents had the shock of their life. Snow was falling due to severe climate change. Since India is mostly a tropical country, snow is a sight never seen before. The temperature decreased to almost 15 degrees Fahrenheit in Mumbai, and environmental experts around the world said that this is a drastic change in climate and that Earth is now beyond repair. "Snow falling in such an unusual place is an extremely bad sign. As you know, temperatures have been rising and dropping, but this confirms our worst fears," Scarlett John, the head environmental agent in California, said this morning. The future of our planet remains uncertain as environmental activists clamour to try and solve this issue.

On the 29th of September, 2019, an anonymous tweet was sent out on NASA's Twitter. The tweet had no caption, but showed three old photos of a film set that resembled the exact scenery of the moon landing in 1969. Cameras and machines surrounded the set, and Neil Armstrong, the famed astronaut, stood off to one side, holding the helmet of his space suit.
Within the first five minutes of the tweet being uploaded, NASA took it down, and there has been no clarity as of yet as to who uploaded the photos.
"They are not real," Director of NASA, Chad Peige, said. "The efforts that the people of America have put in for the future of our Earth were never fabricated."
Even so, conspiracies and rumours haven't failed to spiral out of control, and there is no telling what could be real.

Yesterday, the Philippines patient who has been confirmed of Coronavirus was suddenly cured when he was drinking 'a few last beers'. It seems that Corona beer is the counter to Coronavirus, however, scientists have not come up an explanation for this.
It's incredible," Leading scientist Affner Shcnaffler said "we never saw this coming. This may be a huge breakthrough in medical technology." The patient was said to have had 3 beers, the promptly sat up and declared he felt like a new man. After debating for a while, the doctors decided to re-test him for coronavirus and came up absolutely shocked.
Many people are still skeptical of this method. The WHO has accused the hospital the patient was staying at of 'faulty equipment' and the fact that the patient never had it in the first place. On February 15th, the UN will hold a emergency meeting to decide on whether children who has caught Coronavirus will be allowed to bypass underage drinking laws.
