Several students have complained about the new rule that the MS office has declared-”No devices in the morning.” This has caused a lot of ISM students to complain about this new rule. So, should ISM students be allowed to use their devices before school?
This rule has caused several problems for students. Since most students' homework and other work are mainly online on their own computers they cannot do extra work before school starts. This also does not help students because if they are behind in homework and it was due he/she cannot work on it at the school mornings causing teachers to get mad.
In my opinion I believe this rule should be outcasted so students can use their devices to either use it for school work or also to communicate with friends or family. But there should be restrictions as if someone is not using it appropriately such as playing video games they shall get their devices confiscated.

Ever since the MS office announced the ban of devices before school, it has become a controversial topic for the MS community that must be addressed. So, should students be allowed to use devices before school? No, Students should not be allowed to use devices before school.
Without a doubt, students were highly disappointed when they heard the news. However, the intention is beneficial for students' health. Mrs. Pekin, the MS assistant principal, stated the following, “There is a correlation between increased screen time and decreased empathy. We know children need face to face interactions to learn to read body language and develop empathy as a life skill. By increasing the opportunities for face to face interactions in the school day we are supporting child growth and development in the domain of social skills”.
In my opinion, Mrs. Pekin and the rest of the people involved in this decision are highly aware of the negative health effects devices have on teenagers and are doing middle schoolers a favor! In that case, students should not be allowed to use devices before school.
