Ever since the COVID-19 pandemic started, many countries went into lockdown to try to prevent the spread of the virus.
One of the many public areas that are shut down right now are the cinemas. Due to the shutdowns of cinemas all over the world, many companies have postponed the release date of their movies. Many companies have done this because they needed to earn the money they spent on the movie. They need to earn all the money they spent on salaries, CGI and production sets. If they release it on a streaming service, they would not make enough money to return that debt so that’s is why most studios are delaying the release of their movie.
Many movies have been delayed such as Mulan, Wonder Woman 1984, Top Gun: Maverick, James Bond: No Time to Die and the highly anticipated Black Widow movie. Many of these movies have spent millions on the movie and it would affect the studios budget for other films and their income. One of the examples is Marvel Studios, who have had a very tight movie schedule, and now that Black Widow has to be delayed, many movies have been held back from their original release dates.
