Everyday when I walk into a classroom, there’s always someone half-asleep, and a lot of times it’s me. I have to wake up every morning at 5-6 AM to catch the bus, which isn’t that early but considering the time I go to sleep, it’s a hard goal to reach.
My school, ISM, starts at 7:30 A.M. sharp and lasts until 3:00 on Mondays, Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Fridays. I usually come home at 5 P.M. but I always end up going to sleep at around 11 P.M. because of the overload of work I often end up having, which gives me 6 hours of sleep if I’m lucky while an article from cdc.gov says I should be getting at least 8 and 10 whenever I can. Ever since I moved to my new school in the Philippines, I’ve been getting overly tired really quickly. It starts at 7:30, ending at 3:30 on Mondays, Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Fridays, which is only 1 hour longer than my previous school. I guess I’ve never really thought about how much sleep I needed until I started to experience extreme fatigue.

According to the Oklahoma Care Licensing Act documents (1, 2), school day should last a maximum of 7 hours meaning starting around 7:00 A.M. to maybe 3:00 P.M. When I lived in the U.S.A., I went to a public school which started at 8:30 A.M. and ended at 3:25 P.M., and I felt so much more energized than I do now, I could run around forever even with with no problem, but now, I feel too light-headed to run another lap. I just wish I could get more sleep so I could be as energetic as I was when I was younger.
