This debate has gone on for years in between the students of ISM. Should uniforms really be a thing, and why? I’m here to talk about how I believe that uniforms should not be required in school.
The first reason that uniforms should not be mandatory is that dressing freely helps people express themselves. It also helps people explore their identities which is fundamentally important and shows who you are as a person. It can bring people together and can sometimes make people feel less alone when they can see other people who express similar identities to them. This can make them feel included and make friends. Although one shouldn’t judge a book by it’s cover, having a visible sign that somebody is like you can make you feel more comfortable around them.
As well as this, not being able to express identity through clothing can even cause students to feel like they’re closed off and doesn’t allow them to explore themselves. Uniforms can feel like a wall separating you and your identity. This also ties into my next point about feeling uncomfortable, because students could feel this way if they are wearing clothes that don’t truly show who they are.
Another reason that uniforms should not be required is that students can feel uncomfortable in the current uniforms. They might not want to show their arms and legs, or they might just feel more comfortable when they are wearing their own clothes.
It can make them feel more like themselves. This can also help them focus more on their learning in the classroom, rather than being distracted by the clothing that they are wearing. For some students, wearing clothes that aren’t particularly comfortable can be detrimental to their emotional and mental health.
In conclusion, I strongly believe that uniforms should not be required at school. This is because students won't feel as restricted, they can express themselves, and they will feel comfortable.

Whether students should wear uniforms or not, has been a long dispute for many years. Which one is more efficient? Which benefits the students and the teachers? Today, I’m here to talk about how I believe that uniforms should be required in school.
It is known that every school that does not have uniforms, always needs a teacher to be on the ‘lookout’ for any students who have come dressed inappropriately. With school uniform, that is required, no teacher needs to do this, making their lives a lot simpler. This also puts more stress on the students as now they need to worry about having proper and suitable attire for school, not knowing if their clothes are ok or not.
We are also well aware that not every student is as privileged as another. Knowing this information we want to make sure that there will be no cause of bullying due to what one of the students is wearing. Also, another worry of the students would be not having specific clothing that is higher on the fashionable side, and making them embarrassed of what they’re wearing to school. We want every student to feel comfortable when arriving at school, and this for sure will not help with any stress of the students, much less it would most likely be adding some.
Another concern the school has with students showing up in their own clothing is that it is possible people do not show up in formal or professional attire. Coming in their pajamas, or inappropriate clothing will not be allowed.
With all these reasons and worries. From the teachers having more to do, students not being as privileged as each other, clothing status, and not wearing professional clothing. I believe that it is best the school continues with students wearing uniforms.
