Developing a More Able and Talented Strategy

This strategy guidance recognises all the current challenges and offers advice that is designed to be realistic and supportive, whilst aiming to help schools develop a MAT strategy that is comprehensive, easy to enact, yet ambitious for the continuing development of our learners.
This session will enable you to understand the core elements required to develop a strategy to support more able and talented (MAT) learners and consider some key aspects as a starting point.
Differentiation and Metacognition
This session will support you with an introductory understanding of the 'Supporting Vulnerable Learners Through Effective Teaching and Learning' resource and explore ‘Differentiation’ as one of the topics, looking at pedagogical approaches and techniques to support professional learning needs within your school or setting.

The SEREN Academy
The Seren Academy is a fully funded programme to support the aspirations and ambitions of the most able learners, helping to widen their horizons, develop a passion for their chosen field of study, and reach their academic potential. The Seren Academy is available to years 8 to 13 learners from state schools and further education colleges across Wales who have been identified by their institution as meeting the eligibility criteria.
