This professional learning workshop will be delivered over two sessions: Part A and Part B. Rhiw Syr Dafydd Primary School will share their approached to teaching Film and Digital Media, identify the different forms of Film and Digital Media and the elements of a progressive approach to developing knowledge and skills in primary school. There will be an opportunity to observe and reflect on how Rhiw Syr Dafydd has used a cross-curricular approach to teaching and learning and begin to develop the skills and understanding required to implement Film and Digital Media in your school.

This professional learning event is split over two sessions where Llanfoist Primary will share how Llanfoist Fawr and Llanvihangel Crucorney designed their Expressive Arts curriculum through their 'Pillars of Learning' and spiral curriculum approach. Part A will expand on how the Expressive Arts curriculum has been designed, including all mandatory elements and cross-curricular skills within Expressive Arts. Part B will give further opportunity to observe how the Expressive Arts curriculum has been implemented, including progression through the creative process. Practitioners will have the opportunity to observe classroom activities across disciplines and progression steps with a specific focus on pedagogical principles.

This professional learning event will be split into a two-part programme where Langstone primary will share how they have planned and designed their Expressive Arts curriculum. Part B will provide practitioners with the opportunity to observe Expressive Arts teaching and learning (Year 1 and Year 5/6) and see how their curriculum plans are being implemented in the classroom. By the end of this session practitioners will begin to unpick and have a deeper understanding of Progression within Expressive Arts at Langstone. There will be an opportunity to explore the approach to intent within Expressive Arts at Langstone and consider and discuss next steps towards Expressive Arts curriculum design within practitioner settings.
