This programme is for leaders, teachers, teaching assistants and governors, at all levels who want to develop their knowledge and skills in effective coaching and mentoring.
At the end of the programme the delegate will:
Know what it takes to be an effective coach and mentor
Understand the role and responsibilities of effective coaches and mentors
Learn how to use recognised coaching and mentoring models, and the tools and techniques to support it
Put new skills into practice and carry out supervised coaching & mentoring sessions as part of the programme, and
Analyse coaching and mentoring performance to improve own ability
Developing a coaching and mentoring culture throughout schools will provide us with a powerful tool kit to assist in continuing to improve standards of education in Wales. Good coaching is concerned with creating a sustainable high-performance culture.
Increased exposure to coaching and mentoring through the programme has highlighted that coaching and mentoring is a requirement across all parts of our education system.
