Raiders News
We are rapidly approaching the finish line of another incredible school year, and our students have been incredibly busy both inside and outside the classroom. From academic milestones to exciting field trips and athletic achievements, there is so much to celebrate as we head into these final weeks.
Here is a look at what’s been happening around RMS and some essential updates for the weeks ahead:
🌟 Celebrating Our Students & Teams
Grade 9 Year-End Adventures & Farewell: Our Grade 9s had a fantastic time on their year-end field trip to Laser City and Activate! We are so proud of this cohort and look forward to officially celebrating them at the Grade 9 Farewell on Wednesday, June 17 at 8:00 AM. Everyone is welcome to attend and celebrate their accomplishments!
A Taste of France: On Wednesday, our Junior High French CTF class traveled to Chartier restaurant in Beaumont. Students did an amazing job immersing themselves in a French atmosphere and putting their language skills to work—all while enjoying some classic French food (including some delicious poutine!).
Fore! Raider Athletics: Congratulations to our Junior High Golf team, who participated in the LDAA Spring Golf tournament on Monday. Thank you for representing the RMS Raiders so well, and a huge shout-out on your 3rd place finish!
📝 Academics & Exam Season Updates
Exam Preparations: Our Grade 6 students absolutely crushed two of their PAT exams this week, and our Grade 7–9 students successfully completed their ELA Part B exams on Tuesday. Excellent work, everyone!
Morning Routine: As we move into the heavy exam season, it is vital that all students arrive at school at their regular time to ensure they are settled and ready to begin writing promptly at 9:00 AM. Please see the upcoming exam schedule below.
CTF Classes Update: Career and Technology Foundations (options) courses have now wrapped up for the year. Moving forward, students will report to their homeroom classes during their regularly scheduled CTF blocks. This valuable time will be used for targeted instructional review to help prepare everyone for their upcoming exams.
🗓️ Looking Ahead: Next Week at RMS
Year-End Assembly (Wednesday at 9:30 AM): Immediately following the Grade 9 Farewell, we will be hosting our Year-End Assembly. We will be presenting our Sincerity award certificates, recognizing our Emily Hugh and Zack Brattland award winners, and saying a fond farewell to our retiring and leaving staff members. Family and community members are warmly invited to join us for this special event.
Lost & Found: Our Lost and Found racks are overflowing! Please remind your children to look for any missing items. All unclaimed items will be donated next Friday at 1:00 PM.
Thank you for your continued support and partnership as we wrap up a wonderful school year. Go Raiders!
