This week was full of activities. Thank you to the parents that attended our School Council AGM. Your dedication to our school is appreciated.
The volleyball teams have been practicing hard and their games will begin next week.
Eleven RMS Raiders participated in the LDAA golf tournament and were amazing representatives.
Our Gr. 5/6 x-country runners participated in the Coloniale Classic run. These students ran their hardest! Way to go!
The Gr. 5 and 6 classes participated in a Tornado Hunters presentation.
Most importantly, our students are working hard in their studies. As Ms. Kruse and I visit classrooms, teachers and students are engaged in learning together.

On September 27, we encourage all Riverview students to wear an orange shirt to recognize the experience of those who went to Indian residential schools, to honour them, and show a collective commitment to ensure that Every Child Matters.
Robina Baker, Riverview Middle, and John Maland are coming together for our Terry Fox Walk on Wednesday, September 25 at 1pm.
If you can help out with this please email rms@blackgold.ca and let us know your availability. Thank you so much in advance for your help!
As the 2024-25 school year gets underway, it’s important the school and Division have correct information on file in the student record. It is available NOW on your parent portal. All families are required to complete a Correction and Verification Form for each student by November 30, 2024.
Access the form through the PowerSchool Parent Portal by clicking the Correction and Verification Form tab in the left-hand menu. Review and submit updates for each child linked in your account. Be sure to review all information, paying particular attention to phone numbers and email addresses as well as the emergency contacts on file. If you’ve recently moved, this is also where you’ll update your address information.
Completing the form is easy and takes only a few minutes. Simply, review the form and each of its sections, make revisions where required, and then select “Submit” for school office staff to review. Even if you don’t have any changes to make, when you “Submit,” the Division has a record that you’ve reviewed the data, and we know we still have the most up-to-date information on file for your child.
Step 1: Visit https://powerschool.blackgold.ca/public
Step 2: Login using your Parent Access Account.
Step 3: From the left-hand menu select “Student Enrollment Verification”.
Step 4: Confirm the information is correct for each of your children registered with Black Gold School Division.
Step 5: Repeat steps 1-4 for every one of your children registered within Black Gold School Division.
If you have questions about the form or are having trouble with your Parent Portal account, contact our office staff directly.

Another short week here at RMS, but it's always action packed as sports & clubs start to swing into action! We wanted to take a moment and thank Devon FCSS and the Devon Chamber of Commerce for sponsoring a presentation for us in early October. Tyler Smith is coming to town, and will be making presentations to ALL junior and senior high students in Devon. This will be happening on October 9th at the Devon Community Hall, so please check Powerschool for the permission form. The support of our community partners is so valued, and we thank them for giving this opportunity to us! Check below for more details about Tyler.
The following resources and connections posted below are offered to support our Alberta families. They are brought to us by Community Education Services and are put together by AHS. Webinars where pre-registration is required, but they are FREE.

Over the course of the year, we will begin practicing our Emergency Response protocols. All schools across the Black Gold School Division participate in the same protocols and it is important that we practice these throughout the year so our school community is ready to respond should we need to. More information can be located in the brochure attached or by clicking here.
