It may have been a short week, but it was filled with sunshine and smiles! It's been wonderful to see students enjoying their time outside for PE and recess under clear, blue skies.
A huge thank you to everyone who helped make Thursday’s Pancake Breakfast a success! We served nearly 500 hungry students and volunteers. Special thanks to our amazing community partners—Mayor Craddock, the Devon RCMP, Devon Dispatch, Black Gold Associate Superintendents and Division Principal, and other BGSD staff—for joining us. We were also thrilled to welcome Robina Baker's Grade 4 students for breakfast and a school tour.
In athletics, congratulations to our junior high badminton teams! Three teams advanced to finals in Beaumont, bringing home two silver medals and one bronze. Our Grade 5/6 athletes are competing in Beaumont tonight—best of luck to them as they represent Riverview with pride!
We’re also cheering on over 20 of our students who are skating into action this weekend at the Alberta Cup hockey tournament in Red Deer. Go Riverview!
Looking ahead to next week, our Grade 9 students will be hosting the Riverview Market! This exciting event showcases their entrepreneurial skills as they sell everything from snacks and treats to other items like slime. The market runs during the lunch hour—everyone is welcome to shop, and remember: it's cash only.
Wishing everyone a warm, relaxing weekend—perfect weather to get outside and enjoy!

Not that I have a McDonald's side recruiting job, but it was passed along to me that April 29th is STUDENT HIRING Day at McDonald's. It specifically mentions Jr. High kids. If you're interested or know a teen who is, please pass it along. I hear there is a note posted at McDonald's for more information.
