Weekly Update

Thank you to all of our staff, students and community volunteers for helping Riverview host the BGSD Elementary X-Country meet on October 2. Over 600 athletes signed up to participate in this event. This event showcased our beautiful river valley and the Town of Devon.

In regards to the upcoming labour action, we thank you for your patience, understanding, and continued commitment to your child’s education. Please refer to the FAQ's on the Black Gold website for the latest information regarding labour action. We look forward to a return to school as soon as possible.

School Verification Forms

Verification forms are now available on your Power School portal.

Why Verification Forms Matter:

Each year, it’s important for parents and guardians to update their child’s information in the PowerSchool portal. Completing these verification forms ensures that:

The school can reach you quickly in case of an emergency.

Health and medical information is accurate and up to date.

Custody and pick-up details are respected.

You receive important school updates and communications.

Records such as addresses and demographics support accurate programming and transportation.

Thank you for taking a few minutes to update your child’s information—it helps us keep your child safe, supported, and connected.

RMS Library Learning Commons

If you would like to view any new books or place an order through Scholastic Canada, you can view their latest flyer on scholastic.ca. When you place an order it should arrive at the school in 10 business days and will be sent home with your child. Riverview gets a portion of all sales to purchase new items for the Library Learning Common!❤️

Grades 5 to 8 have regularly scheduled classes and will be bringing home a book or two to read. Any student at any time can also sign on to the Black Gold School Division page, go to the "Engaging Students" tab , then click on Destiny Discovery. They use their school email and password to get into the online Library. There is a wide selection of Ebooks and Audiobooks that students can access from home.

We will be hosting a Book Fair in October, during Parent/Teacher Interviews. Follow for exciting new books!!📚
