Raiders News:
It’s been another busy and exciting week at Riverview Middle School! Here’s a snapshot of the great learning and activities happening across our school:
In the Classroom
Grade 5 students went on an adventure around the school, completing tasks and challenges to learn about the coureurs de bois in Social Studies.
Grade 6 students are exploring the solar system, learning about geosynchronous orbits, and researching Canadian Olympians.
Grade 7 Science classes took a deep dive into the Particle Theory of Matter, exploring the fundamental building blocks of our world. This is the perfect lead-in for next week, as students begin applying their scientific inquiry skills to the highly anticipated Martian Project!
Grade 8 students are wrapping up their Body Systems projects and are preparing to present next week.
Grade 9 students have finished reading Touching Spirit Bear and are currently writing persuasive essays on the benefits of Indigenous Circle Justice in supporting youth reform, using characters and events from the novel.
Athletics & Activities
Our NAX hockey teams are on the road this weekend, travelling to Moose Jaw and Abbotsford. Good luck!
The Senior Girls Basketball team had a great game against Holy Spirit yesterday and came away with a win—congratulations!
Our Junior Girls Basketball team is competing in the Father Leduc Tournament this weekend. Best of luck to the team!
