Hawks,
This week has felt like spring, although it might be a bit early to actually make that call! With that said, as an individual who enjoys being outside, spring introduces an interesting challenge. While several of the pastimes I enjoy are winding down, the residual snow and puddles don't allow summer pastimes to take flight. So it is that it becomes a time of waiting and reflection.
Today I am thinking about last week when we hosted our grade ten orientation and collegiate information session and were grateful to have our incoming principal, Mr. Tisdale, attend both. If you didn't get a chance to chat with him, have no fear; we will be making time for an opportunity to meet with him in the spring. For those of you interested in collegiate programming, you can find information on our website HERE as well as a Google form to let us know what you are interested in! Take a look!
Finally, a big reminder of the Black Gold career fair next week! Make sure to sign up on PowerSchool if you would like to attend! There is no cost and there will be over 30 vendors at the event! In the meantime, enjoy your weekend!
Respectfully,
Justin Klaassen
Need Something Built?
My name is Jim Wallis, and I teach the Collegiate program here in Calmar. This week, I'm reaching out through the newsletter to gauge community interest in our student-led design and built projects.
Our enthusiastic class is well-equipped to undertake various construction projects, including wood storage solutions, garden sheds, cattle shelters, and more.
If you have a project in mind that you'd like our students to build, please contact me with the details. The only cost to you would be the material expenses for the construction.
We look forward to hearing from you and hope you have a great week!
If your child will not be attending school, use the SafeArrival(full day absence only at this time) or please contact the school at 780-985-3515 or email shannon.austin@blackgold.ca & kelly.goldsworthy@blackgold.ca
