Hawks,
On January 20th, as I was driving home, the radio was giving a bit of background on "Blue Monday". I mused about it on the way home and considered this time of year and the effect it can have on people. Then, when I arrived home I smiled and hugged my kids while thinking about all the things that keep me mentally fit when things are difficult.
Often we end up talking about what to do when things have gone wrong, and this is important dialog. Perhaps just as important is how we keep ourselves mentally fit so that life's trials and tribulations are easier to navigate. This will be part of our upcoming Wellness Week and we are excited to welcome Ahmad Jabbir the speak about Pro-Active Mental Health as part of our Wellness Week. Mr. Jabbir will be presenting to our students in the first block on the Thursday of Wellness Week and will do a repeat performance for our community. We are looking forward to it! Mark your calendars and join us at the school on Thursday, February 13th at 6:30 PM!
All the best!
Respectfully,
Justin Klaassen
Here we are, with our first semester already passed! As we look ahead to the next semester, it is important that we ensure that our library resources used in the first semester have been returned and are available for future use. At this point daily reminders are being sent should your child have an outstanding item. Textbooks from the first semester are due by February 28th, with fees being added to student PowerSchool accounts for items not returned by this date. Should you have any questions about this process, feel free to contact the school.
