What a week it has been! Early in the week we had our School Council/Fundraising Society AGM and were so happy to see many new faces in the crowd. As an added bonus, many of them chose to take on roles on the committees. School Council is such a valuable community sounding board for the school, and we always have interesting conversations around school and student success at the meetings. The Fundraising Society has supported the school in numerous ways over the years, providing some of the extras that add to our school environment. From 3D printers to gaga ball pits, their support is found throughout the school. You can find a list of our new members below as well as the next meeting date! We hope to see you there!

We went on our first Trades Exploration 10 excursion to the Carpenters Union training hall. It was a great hands-on day exploring wall framing and scaffold building! It is also postsecondary open house season, so take a look at the open house nights below if you would like to explore some of the postsecondary program options out there!

Finally, we are currently looking for individuals interested in hosting Japanese students who are hoping to come to Black Gold in January for a six-week stay. This is an awesome opportunity to experience a new culture and share some of ours! Reach out if you might be interested!
