Hawks,

We have had an excellent start to the year with several new students joining CSCS! In the spring we forecasted around 240 students to be in the building, and this fall we are sitting around 260. It is always nice to welcome new students to the building. In response, we posted a halftime position to support splitting a couple of classes that grew significantly with our new students! Thank you to everyone who was patient as we did so. Next week we will welcome Mr. Gordulic to the school, who will be teaching Science 10, Flex 8, and Alt Ed.

We also had a dual credit information session for our students last week, with Ms. Chang from the Black Gold division office providing information about the opportunity to earn high school credits and postsecondary credits at the same time! Ms. Chang also arranges international students—if you are interested in hosting a Japanese student this year, see the contact information below!

On a sober note, we saw a lot of damage to Chromebooks last year. This becomes a significant cost to the school We will be discussing this with our students at the first assembly so that we can have a more successful year this year. Note that we also had students bringing Chromebooks home with them, which is not permitted.
