Most mornings, I set upon the day hoping to learn something new, and it is a rare day that I don't find something that brings me to that place. Yesterday, our Trades Exploration program was exploring masonry and bricklaying. It was the first time I had brought students to explore the trade, and several of them commented that it was the best hands-on experience yet! For me, it was that new learning experience I wake up looking for. I have never laid a brick in my life despite spending a lot of time around multiple trades. Like any new learning experience, it was a bit slow, and in this case I made a bit of a mess, but wow do I love learning to make something with my hands.

This was just a sliver of what is happening at the school, though! Once again our community came together to put on our Christmas lunch, an event unmatched in any other Black Gold school that I know of! It is always amazing to see our school community support our students in such a tactile and social way! A huge thank you to all those that helped make it happen!

We also have musical theater coming to our building with All Shook Up! Our musical theater students have been working hard to put on a great show, and they are looking forward to seeing you in the audience! You can see our matinee show in the flyer below, but there are evening shows on the 11th, 12th, and 13th! Doors at 6:30 PM and curtains at 7:00 PM. Tickets at the door for $18.

Finally, we are heading into the holidays, and that means theme days! You can find the theme day schedule below as well! Looking forward to the events our leadership team sets up for us in the week leading up to the holidays!

There are a lot of great things happening in the building right now, and I am learning daily from the staff, students, and community! What a great place to be!
