Hawks,
There are certainly aspects of the educational world that are cyclical, as with so many things in life. In lots of ways this is what provides the roots of a life lived, with so many other variables moving in and out of our lives. Who knows how personal interactions will take place on any given day, but I can count on so many other cyclical things to provide stability. This time of year we are talking final exams (see below), graduation (exciting), scheduling (getting close) and staffing (seems to change every year). We also typically have our last School Council meeting.
I can't even express how grateful I am to this group. Over the course of the year they funded so many projects in the school. From a new score clock in the gym, the alternative seating to interactive displays. They did this through bringing hot lunch to our students and fundraising in a variety of ways. On top of it all, they took the time to serve us a Christmas Lunch! I also appreciated the challenges they posed to me , forcing me to think in different ways. I want to express the schools utmost gratitude to anyone who took time to support the School Council in any way! Make sure to come out in the fall and see how you can get involved.
As mentioned above, there will be some shifts in staffing next year. Mr. Roth will be moving to a 0.7 position (don't worry, the shop will still be available the same amount of time), Ms. de Leon will return to full time which means we will sadly say good bye to Ms. Bower, and Ms. Mudry will return to a 0.7 position due to enrolment numbers (we hope to see our numbers bump up in the next couple of months).
In the meantime, it looks like this next week will be fabulous, so let's enjoy this warm weather and remind ourselves to be grateful for so many things in our lives!
Respectfully,
Justin Klaassen
