Hawks,
January has an interesting flavor to it as we come back from a break, hopefully invigorated, and hit the ground running with a few weeks of classes and then midterms/finals. This time of exams provides at look at the past but also one of the future. Exams give us feedback on what was learned over the course of the semester and that learning is influenced by so many things! It also gives us things to think about for the future as we look at the past. These futures could be a tweak in a lesson plan for a teacher, a commitment by a student to prepare more thoroughly for exams, or a parent deciding how much to let their child struggle with a topic before stepping in.
While a look at the past is important it is more important to take that look and decide what to do with it. While a mark on an exam doesn't define an individual, what is done with it often does. Here is to wishing all the best to our students as they test themselves and are pushed to make next step decisions in the next few weeks. We are all here to support them!
Respectfully,
Justin Klaassen
