I think the three images on the right accurately sum up the weather we are experiencing today! As you are well aware, there has been an increase in illness this season. We have seen a significant number of staff and students away as a result. In order to stop the spread of seasonal illnesses please keep your children home when they are sick. Secondly, make sure that if your child is staying home, they are doing their best to keep up with their schoolwork.
Secondly, we have seen an uptick in vandalism at the school lately. Several soap dispensers have been broken and the soap taken. Also, several Chromebooks have been intentionally damaged recently. This means that we will be locking down our computers and spending more time managing them. I will be going around to classes this week to discuss the situation with our students and hopefully, this behaviour will stop.
On a positive note, only 19 days until Christmas!
Stay warm,
Dan Lake

Research consistently confirms that family engagement is one of the most powerful predictors of children’s development, educational attainment and success in school and life. Getting involved in school council is a great method of family engagement! Meetings are where we discuss all things education and get updates from our principal and board trustee. The next meeting is January 12th at 5pm at the school. Have questions before that? No problem. Contact Ginger at css.council@gshare.blackgold.ca or Dan Lake at dan.lake@gshare.blackgold.ca anytime.
Upcoming Parent Fundraising Association event: Free Christmas Lunch for all students and staff of CSS! No need to send lunch on December 15th for your kiddos. :)
