From the Nest

Hawks,

As I write this, I am sitting in my living room surrounded by the twinkling lights of the season. The strength of so many little lights shining out from the dark is one of the things I love so much about the season. It reminds me of all the light that shines within the school. Students really bring that to the forefront, and in many ways those that enter into the teaching profession are drawn to the joy of students. I know it was a big part of me entering into the profession and is still what I think about when driving to work.

That said, this season can be a difficult one as well. Not everyone has the connections, the lights, in their lives. For those of us who are so blessed to live in an environment with a lot of light, it is good to remember to share it in this season of giving. I am so grateful to see this type of support in the Calmar community regularly, so I have no doubt it will continue over the break.

In the meantime, enjoy a cup of coffee and cruise through what is happening at the school. There are some great new pictures of All Shook Up, an invitation to the Collegiate Grand Opening, and some pictures of some of our students enjoying some spirit days! The light in the darkness!
