Hawks,
On Friday we ventured to Edmonton for our the first of three trips to visit some of our Collegiate Partners this spring. This Friday we went to the Carpenters Regional Council Hall and Training Facility! What a day! We were greeted at their beautiful facility with gifts and some great information about Carpentry. It really does encompass so many parts of construction. After the information session is was all hands on deck as everyone got to experience scaffolding, concrete forming and wall framing. It was a non-stop experience with so much learning. The students all had a great time and I did as well!
We have two more trips this spring with two more of our partners. First we will visit the Pipe Trades on May 9th and we will be off to do Electrical on the 23rd of May. This is a mini version of what our Grade ten collegiate program will look like next year when we will be taking 5 - 7 different trips!
We will also be off to Skills Alberta on the May 7th and encourage our High School students to sign up on PowerSchool ASAP!
Enjoy your weekend! The sun is out!
Respectfully,
Justin Klaassen

It is the season of spring showers and outdoor flowers. The sun is out, and everyone is getting that spring feeling. Students are exploring our outdoor nook just off the library with joy on their faces.
On April 22, we celebrate Earth Day with all kinds of books about our beautiful Earth. There are books about environmental issues, how to better support the arising issues, and how to have a more sustainable future.
We are also celebrating Autism Awareness Month. We have a great selection of books on this topic as well.
Autism Acceptance Month celebrates and honors the experiences and identities of Autistic individuals. It emphasizes understanding, inclusion, and support, moving beyond awareness towards meaningful acceptance.
Hope you all have a wonderful weekend and get out and enjoy this weather!
