Welcome! Bienvenue!
I hope that you all had an enjoyable and restful summer holiday, are ready to return to school and are excited to LEARN!
Learning a second or additional language can sometimes feel overwhelming but it doesn't have to. With the right environment and some dedicated practise you can further develop your communication skills and open doors to so many more opportunities!
Our classroom is a safe space for students to learn and experiment with new sounds, words, and cultural nuances of the French language. Students will engage in conversation and many collaborative exercises with each other to practise the skills necessary to develop fluency all while having fun, using technology, and challenging themselves to always do their best! Students will develop skills in four key areas: LISTENING, SPEAKING, READING, and WRITING. They will have regular exercises and class activities to help them apply their skills as they learn new grammar and vocabulary.
Students will be expected to complete their homework assginments daily and stay on top of their work, practise is an essential part of language learning. Students must also have a set of headphones with them in class every day to do listening activities, please make sure to keep a set in your bag or feel free to leave them in the designated classroom area.
I am excited to see you and I look forward to helping you grow this year! Please feel free to contact me any time via email at amanda.oliver@emsdoha.net.
