Suzie Medders: hello

ITCOMM CG Leader 1: use the phone below for audio
Suzie Medders: ok ty
ITCOMM CG Leader 1: I'm testing the sharing feature
ITCOMM CG Leader 1: This is Carlyn Chatfield - Rice. We'll give everyone about 2 more minutes to join in on the phone line and then get started
Jennifer Gray, UCB: Here is the CU-Boulder ITS Newsletter: http://www.colorado.edu/its/oneonone/
Maureen - Hamilton: Here is Hamilton's newly redesigned newsletter. http://www.hamilton.edu/college/its/newsletter/july2010.html We are in the midst of a college-wide website redesign, so other plans to expand this are currently on hold.
Jennifer Gray, UCB: Like Maureen, CU is concentrating on our website redesign and will follow that effort with an evaluation of this newsletter (and whether or not we should continue it)
Suzie Medders--Clemson: Are you redoing the website in XML in order to reformat automatically for mobile devices accessing it?
Jennifer Gray, UCB: One moment while I check with our Web person :)
Suzie Medders--Clemson: We need to do this!
Suzie Medders--Clemson: at Clemson
Suzie Medders--Clemson: if you create your own Bit.ly acct, you can track how many hits you get via your twitter feeds
Suzie Medders--Clemson: Are we talking about campus-wide IT newsletters?
ITCOMM CG Leader 1: At Rice, we've been working on the Rice App for iPhones and a mobile site for other devices. http://m.rice.edu/about/ - intro to the iPhone App: http://iphone.rice.edu/
Suzie Medders--Clemson: we have m.clemson.edu mobile site
Suzie Medders--Clemson: very limited
ITCOMM CG Leader 1: ours is limited, too, at Rice, mostly feeds to other mobile-friendly websites at Rice, but we have a very cool map app inside the iPhone that allows you to track the campus buses on their routes
ITCOMM CG Leader 1: Rice web page count, staff: 20-40 pages on main IT web site, all detailed content moved to IT Tutorials (wiki); legal and PR content moved to VP for IT's own site. 1 full time, 1 part time, 2 part time student workers. Annual update on all content, including wiki, in summer
Suzie Medders--Clemson: We assign unit directors to designate owners of their unit content
Suzie Medders--Clemson: Which does not always mean it is good or updated content
Jennifer Gray, UCB: Sorry I keep having to step out - Emergency Comm. for Fourmile Fire here in Boulder
ITCOMM CG Leader 1: Navigation samples from Rice IT web site and wiki: http://it.rice.edu/ https://docs.rice.edu/confluence/display/ITTUT/Home
Suzie Medders--Clemson: Do you know how many people are contributing?
Bert-UGA: Thank you all for the time. I need to leave now.
Suzie Medders--Clemson: tc Bert, will you be @ Annaheim?
Bert-UGA: I enjoyed it. Bye.
