Year 11 AUSLAN
(Units 1 & 2)

COURSE OUTLINE

The areas of study for Auslan comprise themes and topics, grammar, informal and formal signed text types and vocabulary in both formal and informal settings. Through the themes and topics covered in both units, students complete a variety of tasks and activities which show their understanding. Grammar, vocabulary and signed text types add a further layer of definition to knowledge and skills to achieve success in this subject. 

UNIT 1 

• Signed exchange of personal experience

• Extract information from a viewed text

• Personal response to everyday situations. 

UNIT 2 

• Signed exchange; negotiating and reaching an agreement.

• Extract and use information from a viewed text.

• Express and convey experiences. 

PATHWAYS 

VCE Auslan Units 1 & 2 at Year 11 can lead to Units 3 & 4 VCE Auslan at Year 12.
