Course Information Evening for 2025 is Wednesday 6th August. Subject information is current for 2026
This Unit introduces students to key concepts and practices in Digital Technologies, with a focus on preparing those interested in pursuing VCE Applied Computing and Software Development.
Students will engage in the design, development and implementation of digital systems, exploring how data is managed, transmitted and secured in networks. The unit includes theoretical and practical components, networks and system development, and applications of spreadsheets, data analysis and programming. Through this, students develop problem-solving and computational thinking skills, essential for creating innovative and functional digital solutions.
This unit will allow students to:
Examine digital systems.
Analyse, design, develop, test and evaluate information systems.
Develop software using computer programming.
Build project management skills
Maintain a record of theoretical knowledge and concepts.
By using a problem-solving methodology, we develop the ability to plan and carry out activities in a logical sequence. There are theoretical tasks and practical tasks to complete throughout this unit.
