Duration: Full Year
Students learn how to communicate effectively in formal and informal situations, while engaging with the Italian culture.
Year 10 Italian builds on students’ established reading, writing, speaking and comprehension skills in the Italian language, whilst simultaneously broadening their exposure to the country’s rich culture at every possible opportunity through a variety of experiences within the classroom. As they progress through the course, students will engage with a variety of text types to ultimately produce high-quality texts of their own in the language. An emphasis on Italian grammar underpins the teachings of this course for the purpose enabling them to utilise their intellect and imagination to create sentences in any given situation to express themselves clearly through a deeper understanding of the language’s unique structure. Italian will be used extensively by the teacher in the supportive classroom environment and students will be encouraged to communicate in Italian regularly to put the language to practice.
Assessment tasks may include a range of tasks focusing on the skills of Reading, Listening, Writing and Speaking Italian.
