This course is designed for students who plan to continue in Foundation Mathematics or General Mathematics. Students considering studying VCE Mathematical Methods should consider the mathematics 10A.
In semester one students focus on their Algebra skills, Trigonometry and Data. In semester two students cover Probability, Linear Equations and Measurement.
These topics are introduced with a range of activities throughout the school year. Successful completion of General Mathematics will involve full participation of all classroom activities by students.

At Year 10, students are only required to have a scientific calculator. However, please note that students studying VCE General Maths are required to use a “TI nspire” CAS calculator, due to its additional functionality. Year 10, students may wish to purchase a “TI nspire” CAS calculator to use during Year 10 to become familiar with it in preparation for Year 11 Mathematics.
