This course focuses on providing you with a solid base for being able to progress into VCE subjects of Chemistry and Physics. You will learn to analyse how the periodic table organises elements and how those elements make up every day objects. You will conduct a variety of weird and wonderful chemical reactions, learn about energy conservation and transfer and relationships between force, mass and acceleration to predict changes in the motion of objects. You will also have the opportunity to learn about careers in Science that will be very important in the future. Laboratory investigations will be conducted, emphasising the importance of observation, recording and analysis of results. Students will have the opportunity to plan and execute their own science investigation, providing practice of useful skills needed to succeed in VCE science. This will equip students with the skills to scientifically question and undertake their own scientific research in a more meaningful way.
