March, the month of women, is marked by Gertrúd Emilia Eberle (born March 4, 1964, in Arad), a Romanian gymnast of German-Hungarian origin. At the age of 7, she followed her mother's example and became a gymnast.
She made her debut in international competitions in 1976. In 1979, she became the world champion in artistic gymnastics as a member of the Romanian gymnastics team together with Nadia Comăneci, Dumitrița Turner, Marilena Vladărău, Melita Rühn and and Rodica Dunca. In 1989 she moved to Hungary and in 1991 to the United States, where she now lives in California and works as a trainer.
She was awarded the title of sports master emeritus and the "National Cross of Merit" 3rd class.
