identity
In order to understand your identity you need to understand what values matter most to you, when you Identify your core values and how they matter to you
Assess your strengths and weaknesses:
When looking at professionalism you need to be aware of not only your strengths but your weaknesses too. This will help enable you to know what you need to work on and how you can tailor your professional portfolio to suit what jobs you aim to get.
Define your career goals:
when looking at how to brand yourself you need to consider a variety of different things. these things will help you to then decide who you are and what you want to show when entering the working world. Your identity should be comprised of things that you feel identifies you and links to who you are. Your morals, ethics and strengths.
We are now going to look at how we can design our own logos that will help to solidify your own identity and how you will present yourself within the industry and within the college.
Most logos are easily recognisable, at a glance you can see a logo and instantly know what it is and who it belongs to.
In order for your logo to be effective you need to remember a few key aspects, remembering these and implementing them will help to improve how your logo is perceived. It will increase your chances of being memorable and easily recognisable to the industry and publics.
A lot of logos or designers fall into the trap of overcomplicating designs, by putting to much into a design that it makes it look messy or unreadable. the key is making it simple while still achieving what you set out to.
For a good logo you want it to be recognisable, you want the audience to see that logo and instantly know who and what it is. For example thing of the logos you know or the symbols you have seen and instantly know who or what it is. this is the goal with creating a recognisable logo.
Similar to that of the recognisability of a logo you want it to stay in the memory of your audience. You want people to be able to remember it well, this could be achieved with Colours, Items or even a tag line.
First you will need to research similar ideas, look for a theme or other logos that are common in the industry you are going into.
You need to look at ways in which you can get across the idea of who you are with a small icon. These icons can be mixed with elements you enjoy or with elements that you believe identify you.
One of the first big steps that you need to look at is to decide on what logo type you would like
Wordmark (e.g., Google)
Letter mark (e.g., IBM)
Icon/Symbol (e.g., Apple)
Combination Mark (e.g., Adidas)
