Key things to think about,
What is an art style and how it can be implemented,
you may also want to consider examples of a art style and how this art style conveys ideas to the audience
In pairs or groups of three, you will review and analyse a visual product or advert using knowledge from the last two sessions. Your findings will be presented in a Google Slides presentation and shared with the class.
Key elements to consider;
Identify the Target audience
The art style used
what tools have been used
the audience response
Your opinions and thoughts.
This will need to be formatted into a google slide presentation that you will then preform to the class within your groups.
Step 1: Choose Your Visual
Pick a visual product or advert (e.g. poster, magazine ad, social media graphic, video ad).
Make sure it’s rich enough to analyse (has clear themes, style, and audience).
Use the following key elements to guide your analysis:
What is the product, how does it work or what is it used for?
show images or videos of the product?
Who is this aimed at? (Age, gender, interests, lifestyle)
How can you tell?
What visual style is used? (Minimalist, cartoonish, realistic, etc.)
Why do you think this style was chosen?
What design tools or techniques might have been used? (Photography, illustration, typography, colour schemes)
How might the audience react?
Is it engaging, persuasive, emotional, etc.?
What do you think works well?
What could be improved?
Do you think it’s effective overall?
Use Google Slides to present your analysis.
Include visuals, bullet points, and clear headings.
Make sure each group member contributes.
Share your slides.
Talk through your analysis clearly and confidently.
Be ready to answer questions.
Add your google slide onto your google site, once you have done this you need to write a reflection on your presentation and the other presentations that you have seen.
How confident are you in identifying the target audience? What clues helped you?
What did you learn about the use of art style and design tools in advertising?
Did your opinion of the advert change after analysing it more deeply? Why or why not?
What part of the task did you enjoy the most?
What skills do you think you developed during this activity?
How could you apply what you’ve learned to future projects or assignments?
