If you look at the two examples below these will help you to understand what we are going to be doing, You need to keep in mind that the project you are completing for this unit will require one critical perspective in order for you to pass this must be imbedded in your research and creation.
There are many ways in which technological advancements have improved and influenced the gaming and animation world. One of the key things we notice is the improvement of graphics and dimension within the media.
For example when we look at games such as Silent Hill 2 in its original release vs the new remastered version we can see a massive change in the graphics and capabilities of the engines and ability to create intuitive immersive environments.
With this comes a need for better consoles, and more capable consoles that can run these high inensity games. Looking at the consoles it is important and keep up to date with the games market to keep in the 'game'.
When looking at the culture shifts and social impacts on media, we can look at the inclusivity of certain elements such as Disabilities, Race, Gender, Religion/cultures and Sexualities. Its now far more common to see elements of this within any form of media be that film and tv, advertising or games.
For example when we look at Games such as Apex Legends or Overwatch we can see a wide variety of characters all with unique and interesting lore and backstories. Looking at this compared to what was the normal back in the 80s to the early 00s this is a vast improvement on images and showing real characters with deep immersive back stories.
Similarly if we look at Disney they are now implementing more cultural diversity in their films with examples like Moana, Encanto and Coco. These all include other religions or cultures that are being shown on a mass platform to embed diversity and inclusivity in their films.
