Introduction to the Assignment for this unit.

Your end goal will be to create a piece of artwork taking inspiration from this artist in a piece of software you are comfortable with at the end of this Assignment which will be by October half term

Your work for this week is as follows and needs to be completed by the time you see me next week:-

• Research into a studio, animator or graphics company

• Identify an art style that you like

• Find the artist who created either the characters or environments

• Add website addresses and images to your google site

• Look at the artists career and the work they have done and write about his career and achievements with images

• Why have you chosen this artist and what is about their style that you like

The work to be completed this week is as follows:-

• Look at the artist you have chosen and choose one of their designs

• Analyse the Design taking into account - Visual style, use of colour, composition, why you chose this image

• List all your secondary research you have used making sure that you have other sources besides the Internet - Look at art books and games for this artist and list those as well.

• You will need some primary research for this - ask others in your class what they think of the design you have chosen and add their thoughts to your work listing who you spoke to and what they said about your chosen Design

• You can also choose to create a google form with your image and ask questions about your design

Durotan

Artis of Durotan - Illustrator  Laurel D. Austin

Laurel grew up in small-town Canada. Much of her childhood consisted of lectures concerned with the proper way to escape bears (long story short: depends on the type of bear).

She earned her BFA at the Nova Scotia College of Art and Design, and to this day counts as her greatest achievement being able to go in the front door, get to every single one of her classrooms, and successfully navigate her way to the exit. Alumni of the institution will appreciate the difficulty of this.

She was eventually thrown out of Canada for being insufficiently enthusiastic about hockey. To their credit, they were very polite about the whole thing

She began her professional career at Splash Damage in London, UK, where she designed the characters for the FPS game BRINK. This work drew from her unshakable conviction that the world would be a nicer place if more people were more intensely grizzled.

She spent many years as a Visual Development Artist n the zergling-festooned halls of Blizzard Entertainment, and these days she works at Moonshot Games on secret projects of mystery and wonder. She enjoys living in Southern California, though she regrets the lack of opportunities to practice her bear-evasion techniques. .

I am choosing Durotan played by Toby Kebbell.

There is a game called WOW - which Durotan is a character. The game has been created by Blizzard.
