A portfolio is the base of your work, when you go to interviews in the creative industries it is a basic requirement. your portfolio is a lot like a digital CV, it holds the body of your work and will be the first thing the industries look at to gage your skill.
There are lots of platforms you can use to create your portfolios, one of the best ways you can do this is by using Artstation. As we discussed in previous sessions, artstation offers more of a intuative and creative portfolio and is used by professionals throughout the industry.
while this is subject to the viewers own opinions there are a few things that you can do to ensure you have a good body of work on your portfolio.
You want to make sure your work isn't half finished when its uploaded, try and upload only your best pieces and finished works. this will help to show consistency and make your work look more professional, your work needs to reflect your ambition skills and desired to work in the industry so regular updates are advised.
Show the entire processes of the models, including different stages or iterations.
The model is laid out and presented in a professional manner, this means clear renders with good lighting.
Showcase the skills you have used to the best of your ability
Show off the technical ability that you have used throughout creating the project
Pay attention to the small details, look at creating a story with your projects/assets.
Show pride and enthusiasm in your work.
Should have created an artstation account.
Edited the information about you to make it reflect who you are.
