Wicked: For Good
Wicked: For Good
Broadway sequel, “Wicked: For Good,” came to theaters on Nov. 21 to mixed reviews. Made by Universal Pictures and directed by Jon M. Chu, “Wicked: For Good” is the second half of the Wicked musical’s movie incarnation. This film fails on nearly everything the first film did right, hiding it with flashiness and CGI. Ariana Grande’s performance of Glinda is incredibly flat, Cynthia Erivo as Elphaba just doesn’t give the character much heart and Jeff Goldblum as The Wizard is too Jeff-Goldblumey. The only praise I can muster is Ethan Slater’s character of Boq, but his presence in the film is incredibly low. Be wary of this film, it’s a subpar sequel to an absolutely splendid movie.
