On Sept. 8 the Supreme Court issued a brief, unsigned order that overturned decisions of illegally racially profiling people. This gives immigration agents a “green light” to once again stop anyone they guess to be here illegally. The Supreme Court granted an emergency request from the Trump administration and temporarily halted an LA judge’s order that barred “roving patrols” from taking people off California streets and questioning them based on how they look, what language they speak, and what work they do.
This is very clearly racially profiling innocent people because they look or speak a certain way. It’s unethical and unfair to undocumented or even documented people around our country. I’m personally not part of the targeted group but it’s still very upsetting and frustrating to see families, friends and cultures torn apart, and for what? I worry about my close friends and their families and other people who have to live in fear of being deported for nothing they did.
A few of my friends have stated they’ve been racially profiled in the past and still deal with the problem today, although they may have different skin color or speak a different language or come from a different background innocent people live in fear of being deported and being separated from their family and friends. Many of my friends have also expressed a deep frustration to have to worry about their families or worry about the dangerous or hurtful things people may do.
I believe this is nothing but pure racism and hatred for people of different skin color and backgrounds. The moment something gets passed to greenlight illegally racially profiling people due to skin color, language and different cultures and to mass deport people shows the pure disgust and corruption that our country’s turning to. Innocent people are getting robbed out of this country no matter if they’re undocumented or not, no matter if they worked hard for this country. We’re all humans, it’s as simple as that and this is one of the most unethical, unfair and disgusting things to witness in recent times.
